APRIL STATS PRESS RELEASE
IN MARCH WE WERE ASKED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO CHANGE THE WAY WE DO BUSINESS. I AM HAPPY TO SAY BOTH REALTORS AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY ADAPTED TO THE NEW WAY IN WHICH HOMES ARE BOUGHT AND SOLD. WITH OUR CLIENTS AND COMMUNITY IN MIND WE HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL AT FACILITATING ESSENTIAL PURCHASES AND SALES IN A VIRTUAL WORLD, KEEPING THE SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVED OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. APRIL NUMBERS ARE AS EXPECTED IN LIGHT OF CURRENT SITUATION. RESIDENTIAL SALES WERE DOWN BY 41% AND LISTINGS DOWN BY 48% AS COMPARED TO APRIL LAST YEAR. OUR AVERAGE SALE PRICE HAS STAYED STEADY WITH A 4% INCREASE OVER 2019. THIS IS REFLECTIVE OF THE OF THE CONTINUED LACK OF SUPPLY VERSUS DEMAND FOR HOUSING. AS THE PROVINCE LIFTS SOME OF THE RESTRICTIONS WE EXPECT REAL ESTATE TO CONTINUE TO STABILIZE AND REALTORS WILL CONTINUE TO ADAPT AND BE CREATIVE IN THE WAY WE MARKET HOMES.
